El don de la maternidad

¿Sabía Usted que la maternidad surgió en el cielo? ¿Sabía que la maternidad no es la idea original de un increíble comité de notables y de sabios? Salmo 139:13-16

A su imagen y semejanza. Durante el sexto día de la creación, Dios le presentó a Adán a su mujer: Eva. La palabra que utiliza el original hebreo para Eva es Kjavvá. Y significa “dadora de vida”. Se trata de una cualidad que solamente había en Dios y que ha sido compartida a su semejanza y a su imagen con la humanidad. Dios en su sabiduría depositó el hardware exacto y perfecto, así como el firmware completo para lograr la tarea de la maternidad plena en el humano mujer. Depositando en ella la maravillosa capacidad de dar vida nueva a otros seres humanos por su pura gracia.

Entonces el hombre le puso a su esposa el nombre de Eva, porque ella sería חַוָּה  la madre de todos los que iban a vivir en la tierra. Génesis 3:20

Para todos nosotros -hoy- resulta muy orgánico entender que el medio a través del que todos nosotros hemos llegado a la vida es a través de las madres. Cada uno hemos nacido de una madre, lo que nos hace a cada uno: Un hijo. Ellas -las mujeres- reflejan el diseño y el carácter de Dios al ser capaces de dar vida.

La maternidad es un regalo. Es la capacidad de dar vida, nutrir y moldear a un ser humano desde su nacimiento hasta la adultez. Es la oportunidad de ver el mundo a través de los ojos de un niño, de redescubrir la alegría en las cosas más simples, de amar y ser amado de una manera que nunca antes se había experimentado. Es un viaje de transformación, un camino lleno de amor incondicional, sacrificio y una dedicación incansable. Muchos de los roles asignados al género femenino en la forma de la maternidad están dentro de un concepto más amplio conocido como la parentalidad.

Nuestro Dios es Espíritu vivificante. Es el Dios que crea y sostiene la vida. El orden de nuestro universo descansa en el trabajo de un creativo y poderoso diseñador. Una persona que es superior a toda su propia creación. La maternidad surgió en su mente y corazón, y es que la parentalidad es parte de su carácter. El diseño y montaje de la maternidad en la mujer fue hecho y se sostiene por Él. Sin la ayuda ni el consejo de nadie más es parte de la aseidad de Dios.

Sin nada. No traíamos riquezas, no llegamos con equipaje. Llegamos "desprovistos de todo" a esta vida. Algunas culturas hablan de que cada niño -al nacer- trae un pan o tortilla debajo del brazo, o que trae un iPad bajo su brazo. Ambas son falsas. Llegamos sin nada.

...al fin de cuentas, acaba por irse de este mundo tan desnudo como cuando nació, ¡y sin llevarse nada de lo que tanto trabajo le costó ganar! Eclesiastés 5:15

Llegamos a esta vida sin nada y ahora somos deudores. Dios nos proveyó un vientre -medio para sustentar la vida- y ahí nos tejió en el cuerpo de una madre. Dios tenía lista la provisión. Ella -la madre- nos vio con hambre y nos sustentó con su leche. Nos vio temblar de frío y nos compartió su calor. Nos vio sucios y nos limpió. Nos vio desnudos y nos vistió. Nos escuchó llorar y nos consoló.

¿Sabía Ud. que hay estudios o investigaciones para casi todo? Hay uno, que nos dice el costo de la inversión desde el nacimiento de un hijo hasta que este hijo complete su universidad será de alrededor de 265 mil dólares. ¿Cuándo le podremos pagar a nuestra madre? Muchos de nosotros jamás se lo alcanzaremos a pagar.

Dios sabía todo lo que íbamos a necesitar al llegar aquí desprovistos. Por eso, nos proveyó de una madre a su imagen y a su semejanza. La madre nutre en todos los sentidos, transmite el cariño y el amor sin los cuales el ser humano se desmorona. La madre acoge, sean esos hijos de su sangre o no, haya pasado su etapa fértil o no. La madre entrega un legado emocional, una visión, unos valores insustituibles.

Honrar a nuestra madre. Un día Dios reunió a su pueblo escogido y después les confió un increíble tesoro de identidad única; su ley. Inició con 10 instrucciones hoy conocidas como los 10 mandamientos. En Éxodo 20:12 encontramos la quinta instrucción, justo a la mitad de los 10 mandamientos, como un puente, en medio de las instrucciones sobre nuestra relación vertical con Dios y nuestra relación horizontal con los demás humanos. Obedezcan y cuiden a su padre y a su madre. Así podrán vivir muchos años en el país que les voy a dar.

No será posible darle honra a Dios sin aprender a –kavod- honrar a tus padres y a quienes han sido como padres. Desde el arameo –kavod- significa reconocer el peso/importancia que tiene para mí. Aquel que realmente aprendió a honrar a sus padres, seguramente sí podrá honrar a Dios con su tiempo y recursos. Este mandamiento une al hombre de Dios con sus demás semejantes. 

El ser humano que kavod a sus padres entendió los 10 mandamientos. Podrá amar a Dios y a las demás que son iguales a este. ¿Cómo formar hijos que traerán honra a la madre y al padre? ¿Cómo se construyen hijos obedientes a Dios? La –ishshá- mujer que es –em- madre en el contexto de la familia y de sus relaciones familiares será obedecida y honrada por su hijo. Los hijos son llamados a traer honra a su madre.

Pablo el apóstol, le escribe instrucciones a un joven pastor que es como su hijo. Leamos juntos 1 Timoteo 5:3-4: Ayuda a las viudas que de veras necesiten ayuda. Pero si alguna viuda tiene hijos o nietos, son ellos los primeros que deben ayudarla en todo lo que necesite, así como antes ella los cuidó y los ayudó. Esto es lo que Dios quiere que se haga.

¿Cómo haremos en la familia para adquirir conocimiento y sabiduría? ¿Qué hará la madre ante tal demanda? El conocimiento se adquiere en el hogar, en el sistema educativo formal e informal. La sabiduría vendrá a través del respeto a Dios y desde una actitud de obediencia.

Para compartir sabiduría oportunamente la Palabra de Dios nos invita en Proverbios 1:7. Todo el que quiera ser sabio debe empezar por obedecer a Dios. Pero la gente ignorante no quiere ser corregida ni llegar a ser sabia.

El impacto y alcance de la maternidad. "La mano que mece la cuna, es la mano que gobierna al mundo" (Ross Wallace, 1865). Esta frase representa el poder de la madre sobre toda una generación. Existe también, un refrán popular que dice: ¿Quieres saber cómo es? Dale poder. El poder es sólo un catalizador o potenciador de aquello que la madre depositó en el corazón de su hijo.

El pueblo de Dios a lo largo de su historia sufrió con algunos reyes y se desarrolló de la mano de otros. ¿Quién estaba detrás de cada uno de los reyes? Una madre. ¿Qué nos dice 1 Reyes 22 acerca de Josafat? Era Josafat de treinta y cinco años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó veinticinco años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Azuba hija de Silhi.

Pero, otros reyes como Ocozías no trajeron honra a su madre. Ocozías hijo de Acab comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en Samaria, el año diecisiete de Josafat rey de Judá; y reinó dos años sobre Israel. E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, y anduvo en el camino de su padre, y en el camino de su madre…porque sirvió a Baal, y lo adoró, y provocó a ira a Jehová Dios de Israel…

Los ataques a la maternidad. Hace 4 mil 393 años atrás. En Éxodo 2, voy a resumir. 64 años antes de nacer Moisés, los invitados hebreos de Gosén en el norte de Egipto, fueron degradados a esclavos de faraón. A través de leyes se decretó que sus bebés varones deben de ser asesinados al nacer. Los bebés que sobrevivan deberán ser sacrificados a los ídolos y lanzados a las aguas del Río Nilo. Era deber de las parteras de Egipto hacer cumplir este decreto real. ¿A quién servir: a faraón o a Dios?

Se trataba de mujeres estériles cuyo trabajo consiste en asistir a las mujeres fértiles en los partos de sus bebés. Ellas dos -Sifrá y Fuvá- y sus 500 parteras decidieron servir a Dios, salvaron a los bebés hebreos de la muerte decretada por el estado y en recompensa Dios les abrió el vientre y fueron madres.  El estado puede cometer crímenes contra la ley de Dios. Usted y yo vamos a mantenernos muy atentos y siempre estimar como más alta la ley de Dios.

Toda madre será atendida y escuchada. Había una madre fenicia muy lejana a Dios, no estaba dentro del pacto de Abraham. Pero, buscaba a Dios con todo su corazón. Una mujer que supo que Jesús estaba en el lugar, y fue a buscarlo, pues su hija tenía un espíritu malo. Esta mujer no era judía; era de la región de Fenicia, que está en Siria. Cuando encontró a Jesús, se arrodilló delante de él y le rogó que librara del espíritu malo a su hija. Pero Jesús le dijo: Deja que primero coman los hijos, pues no está bien quitarles la comida para echársela a los perros. Y ella le contestó: ¡Señor, eso es cierto! Pero aun los perros comen las sobras que se les caen a los hijos debajo de la mesa. Jesús le dijo: ¡Mujer, es muy cierto lo que dices! Vete tranquila a tu casa, pues el demonio ya salió de tu hija. La mujer regresó a su casa y, cuando llegó, encontró a su hija acostada en la cama. El demonio ya había salido de ella. 

El corazón de la madre no renuncia. Yo mismo he visto a mi madre guerrear en la presencia de Dios por sus hijos al amanecer de cada día. Sin importar su condición. No duda en encontrar a Jesús. Él posee todo el poder y la autoridad para dar solución a su problema y ella posee una fe inquebrantable. Una madre no renuncia. Si una madre no renuncia, ni claudica. Siendo que es sólo una pequeña semejanza de Dios. ¿Cómo será el amor de Padre bueno que Dios dispone para Usted y para mi?

La maternidad que Dios nos deja ver a través de las mujeres que reciben este don nos conmueve y nos impacta. Yo nunca llegaré a ser madre y no lo comprendo totalmente. Pero, puedo ver su efecto en la vida de millones en mi generación hoy. También puedo ver el amor de Dios consolando a sus hijos como lo hace una madre. Abrazando y besando como un padre amoroso, calzando y vistiendo de autoridad a hijos que no lo merecían. El corazón de Dios es el corazón de alguien que adopta, que recibe, que abraza y besa, que redime sin importar cómo estoy hoy aquí y ahora. Él nos transforma como nadie. Ha llegado el tiempo para ser consolados por el tierno abrazo de nuestro Padre bueno.
